HEMET: Flames damaged an abandoned house in Hemet today but no one was injured, authorities said.
The fire was reported at 3:15 a.m. on the 700 block of North State Street, Hemet Fire Department Battalion Chief James Majchrzak said.
The flames were in a covered breeze way of the boarded up house and firefighters had to cut through a fence and boards to get to it.
It took 13 firefighters about 30 minutes to put out the flames. The interior of the house was already gutted by a previous fire and the flames that spread into the home further damaged the previously damaged area.
The fire was believed to have been transient-related, Majchrzak said.
