*UPDATED* San Jacinto: Man Killed in Vehicle VS Pedestrian Collision

badge_of_the_riverside_county_sheriffs_departmentSan Jacinto: On Thursday, August 24, 2017 at approximately 10:30 p.m., Cal Fire together with Riverside County Fire responded to a vehicle vs pedestrian at the intersection of State Street and De Anza Drive. Arriving crews located an victim laying unresponsive in the roadway and suffering from major injuries that was struck by a dark colored sedan.



The victim was declared deceased at the scene by paramedics and the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and was cooperating with investigators.

Riverside County Coroner has identified the victim as Brian Johnson, 32, resident of San Jacinto.

*UPDATE 08-25-2017*
A candlelight vigil was held at the intersection of State Street and De Anza Drive by family and friends of Johnson.



State Street from Cottonwood Avenue to Ramona Boulevard and the intersection with De Anza Drive in both directions were closed for approximately 6 hours.

The cause behind the collision is still under investigation at this time by San Jacinto PD. Further details will be released when available.
