SAN BERNARDINO: On Thursday June 8, 2017 a 26-year-old Chino man was struck and killed on Interstate 15 early morning, authorities said.
According to CHP officials, at approximately 1:00 a.m., a silver BMW 328-i was traveling north on I-15 in the No. 3 lane, south of Kenwood Avenue, when for reasons still under investigation the driver stopped in the “narrow portion of the reverse gore point,” which separates the northbound Interstate 215 and 15 freeways.
The driver of the BMW exited his vehicle and exposed himself to traffic when he was struck by a white 2016 Hyundai, driven by a 59-year-old Oak Hills man, traveling north on I-15 in the No. 3 lane.
As a result of the collision, the 26-year-old driver succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics. The I-15 northbound was closed pending the investigation and clearing of the roadway, which took several hours.
