San Jacinto: Mobile Home in Senior Community Destroyed by Fire

calfireThe evening of November 13 at about 7:00 pm, a single family residence fully engulfed in flames was reported in the senior community of Cottonwood Estates in San Jacinto on the 300 block of Potrero Street. Three people including animals were inside the home when the fire started.

Neighbors assisted in saving the animals from the fire and of the three residents, only one was injured when he jumped over a wall in an attempt to escape the inferno. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment, but his injuries were reported to be minor.

Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire along with San Jacinto Fire and Soboba Fire responded to the residential structure fire. When arriving on scene, they reported flames and heavy smoke coming from the home, visible from miles away. San Jacinto Police responded to the scene as well to assist with traffic control and blocking the streets leading to the location of the fire.

It took about 30 minutes to knock out most of the fire and the residence was declared a total loss. The blaze also destroyed one vehicle, damaged one neighboring home and two other vehicles.

Update: One mobile home and one vehicle was destroyed and a nearby mobile home and two vehicles were damaged. One civilian was treated for minor injuries at the scene.
CAL FIRE/Riverside County and Soboba Firefighters are on scene of a structure fire in San Jacinto. The first arriving engine company reported heavy smoke and fire visible from a mobile home. One civilian is being evaluated by paramedics. Updates will be posted as information becomes available.
