Hemet: Man Leads Police on Pursuit, Resists Arrests and Fights with Officers

hpdHemet, 10/15/2016 at approximately 11:15pm. A Hemet Police Officer attempted to pull over a motorist who committed a traffic violation. When the officer initiated the stop, the suspect sped off, leading officers on a pursuit that lasted about 10 minutes before the driver of the Mustang pulled into the driveway of a residence on the 900 block of Leslie Dr.

There were two occupants in the vehicle, a male and a female. The female surrendered easily, but the man she was with decided to not comply with officer commands, reached for his waistband and resisted arrest.

Officers managed to subdue the suspect and load him in the back seat of a cruiser, but the subject remained combative until the very end, forcing officers to use a taser in an attempt to stop the fighting going on. Another great job to HPD for keeping people like this off the street where if he continued driving, he could’ve killed someone.
