Hemet: Stolen Nissan Maxima Recovered; One Arrested

screen-shot-2016-09-23-at-2-51-26-amOn September 20, 2016 at about 11:30 pm, Hemet Police and Riverside County Sheriffs responded to recover a stolen vehicle found at the intersection of Yale St and Florida Ave. The driver and passengers of the stolen Nissan were stopped at the gas station located at the intersection when Officers spotted it and proceeded to it’s recovery by ordering the occupants out of the vehicle at gunpoint.


The three occupants were detained and the car was searched. It was later determined that the two passengers were not involved in the theft. The two, a male and a female, were released and the driver of the Maxima was arrested for being in possession of a stolen vehicle. Officers and Deputies cleared the scene at approximately 1:30 am and the stolen car was towed.

Information regarding the suspect including any additional charges are unknown at this time. The story will be updated if and when any additional information becomes available.
